TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
TCC Board of Regents / UDG
Tulsa Community College is a master planned educational facility located in the rolling wooded hills of northeastern Oklahoma. The construction of TCC Phase One is now complete. The project was designed and developed by Mark Krukiel in collaboration with UDG Dallas. The master planned campus is patterned after the University of Virginia and utilizes two-story stepped arcades to connect the five campus buildings. The project facades and massing have been strategically orchestrated to define the spatial hierarchy of the architectural and site elements. Tulsa artist Linda Allen was commissioned to create numerous mosaic installations at strategic locations in the five campus buildings of Phase One.
The campus buildings, circulation arcades and courtyards maintain views to the expansive wooded areas of gently rolling hills that surround the 80-acre campus. The courtyards, defined by the circulation arcades and campus buildings, are intended as places for thought and study, work and pleasure.
The "academic village" of Tulsa Community College is based on the assumption that the life of the mind is a pursuit for all participants -- that learning is a lifelong and shared process -- that interaction between scholars and students enlivens the pursuit of knowledge.
